The expropriation of Zanon is a historic victory.
It was just before midnight on August 12th as the result of the vote was announced: the parliament of the Argentinean province Neuquén voted 26 to 9 for a law to expropriate the ceramics factory Zanon. The buildings, machines and even the brand name “Zanon” no longer belong to the capitalist Luigi Zanon – they belong to the workers’ cooperative FaSinPat (“Fabrica Sin Patrones”, which means Factory Without Bosses). »»»»

Revolutionary perspectives in times of crisis
As in previous years, for the youth organization REVOLUTION the first week of August was filled up by REVOCAMP, an internationalist summer camp for young revolutionaries in Liberec (Czech Republic). This year’s camp was organized jointly by the independent youth organization REVOLUTION and the Revolutionary Socialist Organization (RSO). About 50 participants from the Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Great Britain and the USA made this camp slightly bigger than last year’s; also, more comrades from groups such as Socialist Workers’ Voice (SAS), Permanent Revolution, and the Left Party youth organization “Linksjugend [‘solid]” were present and a lively political exchange was possible. »»»»

Wie in den letzten Jahren stand die erste Augustwoche auch dieses Jahr für die Jugendorganisation REVOLUTION im Zeichen des REVOCAMPs, eines internationalistischen Sommercamps für revolutionäre Jugendliche in Liberec (Tschechien). Dieses Mal wurde das Camp gemeinsam von der unabhängigen Jugendorganisation REVOLUTION und der Revolutionär Sozialistischen Organisation (RSO) organisiert. Mit ca. 50 TeilnehmerInnen aus Tschechien, Österreich, der Schweiz, Deutschland, Großbritannien und auch den USA war das Camp etwas größer als letztes Jahr; außerdem konnten mehr GenossInnen von Gruppen wie der Sozialistischen Arbeiterstimme, Permanent Revolution und der Linksjugend [‘solid] mobilisiert werden, sodass ein reger politischer Austausch stattfand. »»»»
Will there be a negotiated solution after the coup?
Three weeks ago there was a coup in Honduras – on July 28, President Manuel Zelaya, still in his pajamas, was kidnapped by the army and put on a plane to Costa Rica.
It was the first coup in Latin America since the ousting of the President of Haiti in 2004. Western newspapers spent weeks reporting about the protests against the electoral fraud in Iran on their front pages. Although a democratic mass movement has also been repressed in Honduras; in the eyes of the western media it is of marginal significance. »»»»

Vor drei Wochen fand ein Staatsstreich in Honduras statt – am 28. Juli wurde der Präsident Manuel Zelaya, noch im Schlafanzug, von der Armee entführt und in ein Flugzeug Richtung Costa Rica gesteckt.
Es war der erste Staatsstreich in Lateinamerika seit der Absetzung des Präsidenten von Haiti im Jahr 2004. Während westliche Zeitungen wochenlang auf ihren Titelseiten über die Proteste gegen den Wahlbetrug im Iran berichteten, waren die Proteste gegen den Staatsstreich in Honduras kaum einer Meldung wert. Informationsmangel und schlechte Vorbereitung an den Schulen zwangen die SchülerInnen zum Protest
Am Freitag, den 19. Juni gingen SchülerInnen in Prag auf die Straße, um ihre Meinung über die geplanten zentralen Abschlussprüfungen (ähnlich dem deutschen Zentralabitur) auszudrücken. Die Demonstration wurde über Facebook organisiert und koordiniert.
Die Demonstration begann um 12 Uhr auf dem Palacky-Platz. Schon 20 Minuten vor dem offiziellen Beginn war der Platz voller SchülerInnen, die mit Transpis, Pfeifen oder Rasseln ausgerüstet waren. Diejenigen, die das Glück hatten, nahe der Statue auf dem Platz zu stehen, konnten die Redebeiträge der OrganisatorInnen hören. Die Megaphone waren sehr leise, weshalb andere spontan anfingen, Parolen gegen die Zentralprüfungen zu rufen. »»»»

Lack of information and unprepared schools forced school students to protest
On Friday, June 19, students went out into the streets of Prague to express their opinions about plans to establish centralized state-wide final exams. Their demonstration was coordinated vie popular social networks, i.e. Facebook. The demonstration started at 12:00 pm on Palacky square. 20 minutes before the beginning of the action the square was really full of students equipped with banners, flutes or ratchets. Those who stood near the statue were able to hear speeches from the organizers. The megaphones on hand were too weak to reach everyone in the crowd, so the others began spontaneously chanting slogans against the state finals. »»»»
Celonárodní mobilizace studentů ze středních i vysokých škol
Po poslední významné studentské stávce, která proběhla v listopadu loňského roku a informovali jsme vás o ní v článku ZDE, došlo v Německu k další velké události. Po celé zemi se 17.června v rámci celotýdenních akcí k „Bildungsstreik“ (stávka ve vzdělávacím systému) konaly velké demonstrace. Celková účast ve všech městech se dohromady pohybovala kolem 250.000 lidí, tedy pro nás těžko představitelného čtvrt miliónu účastníků. Například v samotném Berlíně vyšlo do ulic přes 27.000 lidí, v Hamburku 13.000, v Kielu 3.000 (demonstrace se zde konala už o týden dříve), ve Flensburgu 2.500, v Drážďanech 3.500, v Brémách 3.000, atd. Celkově lidé vyjádřili svou nespokojenost ve více než 80 městech. »»»»
Blíže o NPA – Nové antikapitalistické straně ve Francii
Na začátku února byla na předměstí Paříže v St.Dénis založena nová politická strana, která si klade za cíl sjednotit francouzskou levici a zahájit novou éru třídních bojů ve Francii. Jmenuje se „Nouveau Parti Anticapitaliste“, tedy Nová antikapitalistická strana. Dosud ale není moc jasné, jakou roli bude NPA hrát v budoucnu v politickém životě Francie, protože její ideologický základ je ještě širší, než napovídá název samotný. »»»»
Bundesweite Mobilisierung von SchülerInnen und Studierenden
Nach dem letzten großen Schulstreik im November 2008 kam es auch im Rahmen der Bildungsstreik-Aktionswoche zu Großdemonstrationen in ganz Deutschland am 17. Juni. Die bundesweiten Zahlen belaufen sich um die 250.000 Menschen: Allein in Berlin z.B. waren ca. 27.000 Menschen auf der Straße, in Hamburg 13.000, in Kiel (eine Woche vorher) 3.000, in Flensburg 2.500… Dresden konnte 3.500 mobilisieren und Bremen 3.000. In über 80 Städten waren Menschen auf der Straße um ihrem Unmut Ausdruck zu verleihen. »»»»
