Perspectives for the Kurdish liberation movement 25 years after the begin of the armed struggle in Northern Kurdistan
Twenty-five years ago, on August 15, 1984, the armed struggle began in the Kurdish regions of Turkey. The left-wing Workers Party of Kurdistan (PKK) called for a struggle against the military dictatorship which had come to power in the coup of September 12, 1980, and against the decades-old oppression of the Kurds in Turkey. On this day, their Kurdish Liberation Forces (HRK) attacked the state institutions in the villages of Eruh and Semdinli and gave the signal for a broad guerrilla struggle in the Kurdish regions of Turkey. »»»»
On 17 November more than 80,000 school and university students in 60 German cities demonstrated as part of the nationwide “education strike”. On International Student’s Day, the largest demonstrations took place in Berlin (12,000), Munich (10,000) and Wiesbaden (10,000). The education strike was smaller than the strike in June this year when more than 250,000 people were on the streets – but this was primarily due to a shorter mobilization period. Roughly 50 universities were occupied in the two weeks before the strike. In addition, during the week the first two high schools were occupied, in Dusseldorf and Berlin-Neukölln. »»»»
Am 17. November demonstrierten über 80.000 SchülerInnen und Studierende in 60 deutschen Städten im Rahmen des bundesweiten Bildungsstreiks. Am “International Student’s Day“ fanden die größten Demonstrationen in Berlin (12.000), München (10.000) und Wiesbaden (10.000) statt. Damit war der bundesweite Bildungsstreik kleiner als die der Streik im Juni, als über eine Viertelmillion Menschen auf die Straße gingen – aber das lag in erster Linie an einer kürzeren Mobilisierungszeit. Dafür wurden in den zwei Wochen vor dem Streik etwa 50 Universitäten besetzt. Zusätzlich wurden am Dienstag und Mittwoch auch die ersten zwei Schulen besetzt, in Düsseldorf und Berlin-Neukölln. »»»»
17. listopadu demonstrovalo v rámci celonárodní „stávky ve vzdělávání více než 80 tisíc školních a univerzitních studentů v 60 německých městech. Největší demonstrace se na Mezinárodní den studentů konaly v Berlíně (12 tisíc), Mnichově a Wiesbadenu (po 10 tisíci). Současná stávka ve vzdělávání byla menší, než stávka v červnu tohoto roku, kdy vyšlo do ulic přes čtvrt milionu lidí – ale důvodem byla především krátší doba mobilizace. Během dvou týdnů předcházejících stávce došlo k okupaci na asi padesáti univerzitách. Během týdne pak navíc došlo k okupacím na prvních dvou středních školách – v Dusseldorfu a v Berlíně-Neukollnu. »»»»
