Anfang April werden wir ein großes Schaulaufen derjenigen erleben, die weltweit Elend und Tod organisieren. Die NATO lädt zu ihrem 60jährigen Jubiläum nach Strasbourg und Baden-Baden. Die bürgerlichen Medien werden brav berichten, was welches Regierungsoberhaupt und welcher hochrangige NATO-Militär vor der Presse schwafelt. Da wird vom „weltweiten Terrorismus“ die Rede sein, von „Stabilisierung“ und von “Friedenseinsätzen” und von „globaler Sicherheit“. Dabei ist die NATO keinesfalls ein Garant für Sicherheit. Sie steht für die aggressive Durchsetzung der Interessen der mächtigsten Regierungen und der hinter diesen stehenden KapitaleigentümerInnen. »»»»

Das kapitalistische System ist Schuld an der Krise, und die KapitalistInnen beim World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos können es nicht reparieren.
Schon seit Jahren findet Ende Januar in Davos das World Economic Forum statt, immer begleitet von Protesten und Gegenveranstaltungen, da die in den Bündner Bergen versammelten, selbsternannten Leader der Welt keinesfalls nur auf Zustimmung stossen. Doch dieses Jahr ist alles anders. Das wollen uns zumindest die Organisatoren dieses beispiellosen Aufmarsches der Weltelite weismachen. Die meisten TeilnehmerInnen seien die letzten Jahre sowieso nur gekommen, um die in gehobenen Kreisen bekannten Partys während des Forums zu feiern. Man hat uns also jahrelang geschröpft und Milliarden dafür ausgegeben, um einigen ManagerInnen und PolitikerInnen das Feiern im hermetisch abgeriegelten Davos zu ermöglichen! »»»»

Déjà depuis des années a lieu, fin Janvier le World Economic Forum à Davos, toujours avec la présence de proteste et de manifestation contre cela, puisque les rassemblés dans les montagnes de grisons et autonomé leader du monde ne peuvent dans aucun cas rencontrer l’approbation. Mais cette année c’est autrement. C’est ce que les organisateurs nous veulent faire avaler avec ce rassemblement de l’élite mondiale incomparable. La plus parts des participants des années précédents étais de toute façons juste venus pour solenniser dans des fête connu dans les couches supérieures pendant le Forum. On nous a alors saigner durant des années et dépenser des milliards en contrepartie, pour permettre à des managers et politiciens dédaigneux de chômer dans le Davos hermétique et enfermer. »»»»
The World Social Forum is meeting for the ninth time and offers an opportunity to share experiences and coordinate protests around the world. The problem is that the ESF is dominated by bureaucrats from trade unions, reformist parties and NGOs, so there’s usually a lot of talking and very few concrete plans for action.
Many of the ESF’s participants are young people, but our participation is hardly encouraged: there are high fees (so it’s mostly “professional youth activists” who can attend), few young people on the podiums and no focus on young people’s issues in the official program. This makes it difficult to to coordinate the resistance against cuts in education, imperialist wars, our living and working conditions, and capitalism in general. »»»»
O Forum social mundial se encontra agora pela nona vez e ofereçe a possibilidade, de troca de experiencias e organizaçao de protestos internacinais. O problema é, que o forum é dominado por burocratas de sindicatos, partidos reformistas e ONGS, normalmente se fala muito, mas muito pouco de concreto se organiza.
Muitos participantes do forum social mundial sao jovens, e agente nao é muito levado em conta: enormes taxas sao cobradas, poucos jovens estao no podio, e pouco focus é dirigido aos nossos problemas específicos. Fica complicado resistir aos planos de reforma educacional, contra as querras imperialistas, ataques ao nivel de vida, e ao capitalismo em geral. »»»»

50 years ago, in the night before January 1, 1959, the Cuban dictator Fulgencio Batista fled the country. The next morning, rebel troops under the young lawyer Fidel Castro entered the city of Santiago de Cuba. However, the Cuban Revolution was not only the work of a few thousand guerrillas. The students whose protests against Batista had closed down the country’s universities and especially the workers’ movement whose general strike had paralyzed the capital also played an important role in forcing the dictator to flee. »»»»

Am nächsten Morgen sind RebellInnenentruppen unter dem jungen Anwalt Fidel Castro in die Stadt Santiago de Cuba einmarschiert. Die kubanische Revolution war aber nicht allein das Werk von ein paar tausend Guerilleros. Die Studierenden, deren Proteste gegen Batista die Universitäten des Landes geschlossen hatten und vor allem die ArbeiterInnenbewegung, deren Generalstreik die Hauptstadt lahm gelegt hatte, spielte ebenfalls eine wichtige Rolle dabei, den Diktator zur Flucht zu zwingen. »»»»

Před padesáti lety, v noci před 1.lednem roku 1959, ze země uprchl kubánský diktátor Fulgencio Batista. Následující den ráno vstoupila vojska rebelů, vedená mladým právníkem Fidelem Castrem, do města Santiago de Cuba na jihu ostrova. Kubánská revoluce ale nebyla jen práce tisícovek partyzánů. Důležitou roli v tlaku na rezignaci diktátora hráli také studenti, kteří na protest proti Batistovi uzavřeli univerzity, nebo dělnické hnutí, které zorganizováním masových generálních stávek ochromovalo kapitalisty, hlavní spojence proamerické vlády. »»»»
Solidarity with the youth protests in Greece!
For the last several days, the news has been filled with reports of what is happening in Greece. Left-wing youth have started the biggest riots in 25 years and according to different sources, Athens’ left-alternative neighborhood Exarchia is completely cop-free. How did this happen?
The reports differ a lot. The Greek police claim that a ricochet bullet hit the fifteen-year old Alexandros Grigoropoulos in the chest, after “30 autonomists” had attacked a police car. Two of the three bullets fired were aimed at the ground, one of which hit the young man in the chest. This story is dubious. »»»»
Solidarität mit den Jugendprotesten in Griechenland!
Seit Tagen überschlagen sich die Nachrichten über die Geschehnisse in Griechenland. Linke Jugendliche haben die stärksten Unruhen seit 25 Jahren begonnen und das linksalternative Athener Stadtviertel Exarchia ist diversen Meldungen zufolge komplett frei von Polizeieinheiten. Wie kam es nun dazu?
Die Nachrichten sind sehr unterschiedlich. Die griechische Polizei selbst behauptet, ein Querschläger habe den 15jährigen Alexandros Grigoropoulos in die Brust getroffen, nachdem „30 Autonome“ einen Polizeiwagen angegriffen hätten. Von drei Schüssen, die ein Polizist abgegeben hätte, seien zwei auf den Boden abgegeben worden, von denen einer den Jungen in die Brust getroffen hätte. Eine sehr fragwürdige Geschichte. »»»»
