Second general strike of the year on March 2
Trade unions in Northern Cyprus declared 2011 as the “year of social existence.” The world economic crisis has forced the government in Ankara to carry out neoliberal attacks against the rights of the working class in Northern Cyprus. The first general strike of this year was on January 28. The general strike took on an anti-colonial character: At the strike rally, banners against the Turkish occupation forces were held up. Then the verbal attacks against the people of Northern Cyprus began, both by the Turkish government and by Turkish fascists in Cyprus. On March 2, a second general strike will take place, and we want to analyze this movement from a Marxist point of view in order to develop perspectives. »»»»

Zweiter Generalstreik des Jahres am 2. März
2011 wurde von den Gewerkschaften in Nordzypern zum “Jahr der gesellschaftlichen Existenz” erklärt. Die Weltwirtschaftskrise zwingt die Regierung in Ankara dazu, neo-liberale Angriffe auf die Rechte der ArbeiterInnenklasse in Nordzypern durchzuführen. Am 28. Januar gab es den ersten Generalstreik in diesem Jahr. Der Generalstreik nahm dabei einen antikolonialen Charakter an: Auf der Streikkundgebung wurden Transparente gegen die türkische Besatzungsmacht hochgehalten. Danach begannen die verbalen Angriffe auf die nordzypriotische Bevölkerung, sowohl durch die türkische Regierung als auch durch die türkischen FaschistInnen in Zypern. Am 2. März wird ein zweiter Generalstreik stattfinden, und diese Bewegung wollen wir aus marxistischer Sicht analysieren und Perspektiven ableiten. »»»»
A balance sheet of the congress of the New Anticapitalist Party (NPA) of France
The first congress of the New Anticapitalist Party of France (NPA), held last weekend in Montreuil just outside Paris, ended in a dismal failure. None of the platforms presented was able to win a majority. The outgoing leadership – including the spokesman Olivier Besancenot and historical leaders such as Alain Krivine – barely got 41.8% of the votes for their orientation document. It was not even possible to produce a joint declaration by the congress due to strong disagreements between the main platforms: Platform 3 (PF3) or the ‘unitary platform’, which is in favour of an agreement with the reformists at any cost, that is with the Parti de Gauche (Left Party) of Jean-Luc Mélenchon, former minister in Lionel Jospin’s social democratic government, and the French Communist Party (PCF); Platform 2 (PF2), called the ‘identity platform’ by the bourgeois press, which wants a candidacy of Olivier Besancenot for the 2012 presidential elections and proposes to return to ‘the NPA of its origins’ and to orient towards the workplaces; Platform 1 (PF1), which vacillates between PF3 and PF2 on the electoral issue and defines itself as ‘anticapitalist’ and ‘unitary’. As a result of this lack of definition, seven members of the outgoing leadership decided to join the Parti de Gauche. This occurs in the context of a loss of adherents, who went from about 9,000 at the founding congress two years ago to about 3,550 who voted in the electoral assemblies prior to this congress [1]. »»»»
Bilan du congrès du Nouveau Parti Anticapitaliste
Le premier Congrès du Nouveau Parti Anticapitaliste (NPA) qui s’est tenu les 11, 12 et 13 février à Montreuil (93) s’est conclu sur un échec retentissant. Aucune des plateformes présentant des textes n’a obtenu de majorité. La majorité sortante, dont font partie le porte-parole, Oliver Besancenot, ou des figures historiques de l’extrême gauche française comme Alain Krivine, n’a récolté que 40,8% des voix des délégué-e-s sur son texte d’orientation. Il n’a même pas été possible de sortir du Congrès avec une déclaration majoritaire en raison des fortes divergences existant entre les principales plateformes. La Plateforme 3 (PF3), qui se définit elle-même comme « unitaire », est partisane d’un accord coute-que-coute avec les réformistes, à savoir avec le Parti de Gauche (PG) de Jean-Luc Mélenchon, ancien ministre de « gauche plurielle » sous Lionel Jospin, ainsi qu’avec le Parti Communiste (PCF). La Plateforme 2 (PF2), que la presse bourgeoise a qualifié « d’identitaire », souhaite une candidature de Besancenot pour 2012, défend l’idée d’un retour au « NPA des origines » et une orientation en direction des lieux de travail. La Plateforme 1 (PF1) quant à elle oscille entre les deux précédentes par rapport à la question électorale et se définit elle-même comme « anticapitaliste » et « unitaire ». Cette indéfinition fondamentale a fait que sept des anciens membres de la direction sortante ont finit par décider de quitter le NPA, certains rejoignant directement le PG. Ce Congrès s’est tenu, de surcroit, dans un cadre marqué par une véritable hémorragie militante, avec le passage de 9.000 cartes lors du Congrès de fondation il y a deux ans à environs 3550 votant-e-s lors des AG locales de pré-Congrès. »»»»

Der Kongress der Neuen Antikapitalistischen Partei (NPA) in Frankreich, der letztes Wochenende im Pariser Vorort Montreuil abgehalten wurde, endete in einem tosenden Desaster. Keiner der aufgestellten Wahlplattformen konnte eine Mehrheit erlangen. Die ausscheidende Mehrheit – der die öffentliche Figur Olivier Besancenot und historisch bekannte Führer wie Alain Krivine angehören – erlangte gerade einmal 41,8% der Stimmen auf ihren Text zur Zielsetzung der Partei. Es war aufgrund der großen Unstimmigkeiten zwischen den Plattformen noch nicht einmal möglich, dazu eine gemeinsame Erklärung des Kongresses zu verabschieden: Die Plattform 3 (PF3) oder auch „Einheitsplattform“, die ein Verfechter von Übereinkommen um jeden Preis mit den Reformisten ist, also der Partie de Gauche (PG, französische Linkspartei) von Jean-Luc Melénchon, ex-Minister der sozialdemokratischen Regierung von Lionel Jospin und der Kommunistischen Partei Frankreichs; die Plattform 2 (PF2), von der bürgerlichen Presse als „identitaire“ (zu Deutsch in etwa „identitätssuchend“) benannt, die eine Kandidatur Olivier Besancenots für die Präsidentschaftswahlen 2012 anstrebt und eine Rückkehr der NPA „zu ihren Wurzeln“ sowie eine Orientierung auf die Arbeitsplätze anstrebt; die Plattform 1 (PF1), die auf Wahlebene zwischen der PF3 und PF2 schwankt und sich selbst als „antikapitalistisch“ und „einheitswillig“ bezeichnet. Aus dieser Unklarheit resultierend, haben sieben Mitglieder der Parteiführung sich dazu entschlossen, sich der Partie de Gauche anzuschließen. Dies geschieht im Rahmen von einem Mitgliederschwund von etwa 9.000 Anhängern zu Zeiten des Gründungskongresses der NPA auf aktuell etwa 3.550 [1]. »»»»

El primer Congreso del Nuevo Partido Anticapitalista de Francia realizado el pasado fin de semana en Montreuil, en las afueras de Paris, terminó en un estrepitoso fracaso. Ninguna de las plataformas presentadas logra una mayoría. La mayoría saliente –donde se encuentran su figura pública, Olivier Besancenot y dirigentes históricos como Alain Krivine- apenas alcanzó un 41,8% de los votos a su texto de orientación. Ni siquiera fue posible sacar una declaración común del Congreso producto de las fuertes discrepancias entre las plataformas principales: la Plataforma 3 (PF3) o “unitaria”, partidaria de un acuerdo a toda costa con los reformistas, es decir, con el Parti de Gauche (PG, Partido de Izquierda) de Jean-Luc Mélenchon, antiguo ministro del gobierno del socialdemócrata Lionel Jospin y el Partido Comunista Francés; la Plataforma 2 (PF2), llamada por la prensa burguesa “identitaria” que quiere una candidatura de Olivier Besancenot para las elecciones presidenciales de 2012, plantea una vuelta al “NPA de los orígenes” y la necesidad de una orientación hacia los lugares de trabajo; la Plataforma 1 (PF1) que oscila entre la PF3 y la PF2 en relación a la cuestión electoral, se define a sí misma como “anticapitalista” y “unitaria”. Como consecuencia de esta indefinición, siete miembros de la dirección saliente decidieron adherirse al PG. Esto se da en el marco de la pérdida de adherentes que pasaron de cerca de 9.000 en el Congreso de Fundación hace dos años a alrededor de 3.550 que votaron en las asambleas electivas previas a este Congreso [1]. »»»»

Welche Perspektiven gibt es für die Revolutionen in arabischen Ländern?
In den letzten zwei Monaten sind Millionen Menschen in Tunesien, Ägypten, Jordanien, dem Jemen, Algerien und anderen arabischen Ländern gegen ihre diktatorischen Regime auf die Straßen gegangen. Diese Regime, welche für Jahrzehnte an der Macht waren (23 Jahre im Fall von Tunesien, 29 Jahre im Fall von Ägypten), sind nun erschüttert worden. Massive Polizei und Geheimdienstapparate (180.000 PolizistInnen und Spitzel im Fall von Tunesien, 1,8 Millionen im Fall von Ägypten) waren nicht in der Lage, die Revolte einzudämmen. Der tunesische Präsident Zine El Abidine Ben Ali wurde am 14. Januar gezwungen, aus dem Land zu fliehen, während der ägyptische Präsident Mubarak am 11. Februar zurücktreten musste. »»»»
