Liga za pátou internacionálu se pokusila vyloučit člena RIO z projektu Nové Antikapitalistické Levice v České republice
V dobré víře formulovalo RIO Praha text otevřeného dopisu, který upřímně pojmenovával aktuální problémy Nové antikapitalistické levice (NAL). Jeho cílem bylo začít konstruktivní diskusi o dalším směřování NAL a o práci jednotlivých skupin (tedy RIO a L5I, jiné zde nejsou) v této organizaci.
Text dopisu byl odeslán v sobotu 15. ledna a na webových stránkách RIO zveřejněn o den později. Odpověď Ligy za pátou internacionálu byla skutečně blesková. Nedočkali jsme se ovšem odpovědi formou dopisu, ani politické polemiky, nedočkali jsme se zahájení diskuse. Místo toho přišla byrokratická snaha vyloučit člena RIO, který je zároveň členem vedení NAL. Do této pozice byl přitom demokraticky zvolen drtivou většinou členů na listopadovém sjezdu NAL, což je nejvyšším orgán organizace. Dalšímu členovi RIO, který je rovněž členem vedení NAL, vyloučení hrozí v nejbližší době.
Po několik týdnů vedli členové Ligy za pátou internacionálu lživou kampaň o údajném poškozování NAL členy RIO. Svoji snahu ovládnout zbytky NAL korunovaly v neděli 16. ledna hlasováním o vyloučení člena RIO. Pro vyloučení však hlasovali jen 3 ze 7 členů vedení NAL. Navíc bylo bráněno proběhnutí řádné diskuse před hlasováním. Z těchto důvodů neuznává RIO Praha legitimitu tohoto vyloučení.
Tuto byrokratickou iniciativu českých členů L5I, dřívějších členů Socialistické organizace pracujících SOP, která se organizačně i politicky rozpustila v NAL, chápeme jako jednoznačné odmítnutí diskuse o NAL a jejím politickém směřování, kterou jsme se snažili začít naším otevřeným dopisem. Místo konstruktivního dialogu dala L5I přednost byrokratickému puči s cílem ovládnout zbytky Nové antikapitalistické levice.
Oficiální důvod vyloučení (že členové RIO nerozdávali letáky NAL na veřejné intervenci v prosinci) je naprosto směšný. Proto vyzýváme všechny zbylé dva členy NAL, kteří nejsou (či v minulosti nebyly) členy Ligy za pátou internacionálu, aby jasně odmítli tento byrokratický puč a aby se aktivně angažovali v boji proti vyloučení člena RIO. Stejně tak vyzýváme všechny české levicové organizace a zahraniční sekce L5I, aby tento postup odsoudili.
V nejbližší době navrhujeme svolání mimořádného sjezdu NAL, který vedle ujasnění si politického směřování naší organizace může řešit i personální otázky. Po minulém sjezdu (od kterého přitom uplynuly jen dva měsíce!) opustilo NAL několik členů z pravicového křídla. Nyní dochází ke snaze vyloučit revolučně-marxistické křídlo představované členy RIO. Dokonce i NPA ve Francii (kterou někteří členové NAL vnímají jako vzor) přitom akceptuje existenci revoluční tendence. Krize NAL nemůže být vyřešena administrativním zásahy.
Do příštího sjezdu platformy NAL neuznává RIO Praha žádné personální změny ve vedení NAL a plánuje se nadále účastnit její práce a bojovat v ní jak proti politické degeneraci a oportunismu, tak proti byrokratickým machinacím a nedemokratickému vylučování.

I think we would be happy to publish a reply by you or the NAL.
You must admit it is a bit strange for the NAL leadership to expel one of the founding organizations, including members of the leadership, without any kind of public or even internal statement. One would think an organization that has shrunk so dramatically since its founding would have other concerns than who to expel.
For our part, we think that the decline of the NAL (and the NPA, which it is modeled after) is not exactly inspiring. We think this is not “bad luck” but an expression of the fundamental contradictions of their founding principles. But what conclusions do you think can be drawn from two years of these broad, anticapitalist, non-Marxist formations?

One member was suspended for disloayal conduct and had a right to appeal against suspension. The suspension was supported by all other NAL members except for one. It was by no means a decision by the League for the 5th International. The whole organisation felt this way.
Before the special conference the two comrades left NAL de iure while they left NAL de facto a few months earlier.
NAL was declining from spring 2010 until suspension of Roman in January 2011. Since January 2001, NAL has grown substantially, especially after the March conference, and continues growing.
For sure, cripling effects of Roman’s unprincipled manouvres weren’t the only cause for the decline.

It’s good to get some information from an NAL member, more than eight months after the expulsion.
But your version seems to skip over some important facts: The decision for the expulsion (for which disloyal conduct? did it have something to do with the political letter to the LFI? the NAL never gave an explanation.) was made by the NAL leadership, right? And of the seven people on the leadership, only three members voted for expulsion, no? (Others weren’t present or abstaned, so it wasn’t even a majority of the leadership.) And two of these three members were from the LFI, correct? So it doesn’t seem like a decision of the whole organization – it seems like the LFI played quite a large role.
The expulsion was confirmed by an NAL conference three months later. We can’t verify if there was a democratic discussion based on all information. But after the leadership’s decision, the RIO member was immediately blocked from all communication channels to the rest of the NAL, so he couldn’t defend himself against any accusations. Can you see how, to some people, this seems rather undemocratic?
In any case, it is disappointing that these kind of very vague personal accusations instead of political discussions. So again, how do you see the development of the NAL? It’s great news that the project is growing again, because just a few months ago there were NAL meetings of Prague with just 2-3 people. What do you see as the reason for the continuous decline for an entire year, besides accusations against one member. How do you see the political development? What program is the NAL using for its construction?
Daniel Bensaid of the ex-LCR hypothesized that the era of the October Revolution was over, and that an anticapitalist transformation in the 21st century would pass not through an insurrectionary general strike but through “democracy all the way to the end”. We profoundly disagree with this thesis, but at least it provides a coherent theoretical framework for projects like the NPA or the NAL with a broad, anticapitalist, non-Marxist program. The last time we spoke to a leading NAL comrade (one who later voted for expulsion) he told us that a revolutionary program wouldn’t be relevant in Europe for at least the next fifty years. Do you – does the NAL – agree with this? That seems to be the central question.
